Strengthen the safety defense line and protect factory production

Time : 2025-01-14
In order to effectively enhance employees' fire safety awareness and emergency response capabilities, and to build a solid safety barrier for the company's production and operation, the company recently organized a full-staff practical fire emergency drill. This drill was not a perfunctory formality but a carefully planned and realistic simulation activity, adhering to the core principle of "prevention first, combining prevention with firefighting." Its ultimate goal was to comprehensively improve employees' practical abilities in emergency evacuation, initial fire fighting, and coordinated rescue through the simulation of a real fire scene, ensuring that every employee can remain calm, respond scientifically, and act standardized when facing an actual fire hazard.
The drill preparation work started two weeks in advance. The safety management department took the lead in formulating a detailed drill plan, which clearly defined the drill time, location, scenario setting, personnel division, and emergency procedures. A special drill command group was established, with the company's general manager as the commander-in-chief, the safety director as the deputy commander, and representatives from various departments as members. Before the drill, a full-staff fire safety training meeting was held. The training covered fire hazard identification, the use of fire-fighting equipment (such as dry powder fire extinguishers and fire hydrants), evacuation route memory, and self-protection skills (such as covering the mouth and nose with a wet towel and bending over to move forward). At the same time, the drill site was arranged meticulously: simulated smoke was set up in the comprehensive office area on the second floor to simulate the scene of a fire caused by a short circuit of electrical equipment, and obvious evacuation signs, emergency lighting, and temporary assembly points were set up. Fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, first-aid kits, and other equipment were also checked and placed in designated positions to ensure they were in good condition and available for immediate use.
At 10 a.m., the drill officially began. With the sound of the sharp fire alarm, the drill command group immediately issued the emergency response order through the internal broadcast system, and the entire drill entered a tense and orderly state. Upon hearing the alarm, employees in each department quickly stopped their work, followed the guidance of the department's safety officers, covered their mouths and noses with wet towels, bent over and leaned against the wall, and moved quickly towards the nearest safe exit. During the evacuation process, there was no pushing or crowding; employees took care of each other, especially reminding elderly colleagues and new employees to pay attention to their steps. The evacuation team responsible for maintaining order at the stairs and exits guided everyone to evacuate in an orderly manner and counted the number of people in real time. Within 3 minutes, all employees successfully evacuated to the open-air square in front of the company building, and the department heads reported the number of evacuated personnel to the command group one by one. After verification, no one was "trapped" or "injured" in the evacuation link, and the first phase of the evacuation drill was completed successfully.
Subsequently, the drill entered the initial fire fighting link. The safety instructor first demonstrated the correct use of dry powder fire extinguishers on the spot, emphasizing the "pull, hold, aim, press" four-step method: pull out the insurance ring, hold the nozzle with one hand, aim at the root of the fire with the other hand, and press the handle to spray evenly. After the demonstration, employees from various departments took turns to practice under the guidance of the instructor. Facing the simulated fire, they operated calmly and standardizedly, successfully putting out the "fire" in a short time. At the same time, the fire hydrant operation demonstration was carried out in the outdoor area. The security team members quickly connected the water hose, opened the valve, and accurately sprayed water to the target area, showing proficient operation skills. In the coordinated rescue link, the drill simulated a scenario where an employee was "slightly injured" during evacuation. The first-aid team immediately rushed to the scene, carried the "injured person" to the safe area with a stretcher, and carried out simple first-aid measures such as hemostasis and bandaging, which tested the team's emergency rescue and coordination capabilities.
After the drill, the safety director summarized the activity. He affirmed the achievements of the drill: the evacuation was fast and orderly, the fire fighting operation was standardized, and the rescue link was compact and efficient. At the same time, he also pointed out some problems in the drill, such as individual employees' slow response at the initial stage of the alarm and unstandardized holding posture of fire extinguishers. He required all departments to organize internal discussions and learning based on these problems, and the safety management department to formulate targeted improvement measures. Finally, the general manager emphasized that fire safety is the lifeline of the company's development. This drill not only let every employee master practical fire safety skills but also tested the company's emergency response mechanism. The company will take this drill as an opportunity to regularize fire emergency drills, further improve the emergency response plan, and ensure the safety of employees' lives and company property.
This full-staff fire emergency drill has achieved the expected goals. It has transformed abstract fire safety knowledge into practical operation skills, greatly enhanced employees' safety awareness and emergency response capabilities, and laid a solid foundation for the company's safe and stable development.
